The Team

Cantex is developed by CaviarNine, a team with deep experience in derivatives trading, electronic markets and DeFi protocol engineering. CaviarNine was founded in July 2021 and the team initially built the leading suite of on-chain products on the Radix L1 Network, including:

  • A concentrated liquidity DEX

  • An on-ledger order book

  • Liquid staking products

  • The Surge perpetual DEX

  • The JustLock token locker

These products became the dominant DeFi ecosystem on Radix by TVL and trading volume. This experience informs how Cantex is designed and built on Canton.

As of 2025, the team is fully dedicated to building on Canton.
